The Holy Spirit in Spiritual Transformation, that leads to Spiritual Liberation
"And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what the will of God is, which is good and acceptable and perfect." (Romans 12:2)

Draw Thou my soul, O Christ, closer to Thine;
Breathe into every wish Thy will divine;
Raised my low self above, won by Thy deathless love,
Ever, O Christ, through mine let Thy life shine.
Lead forth my soul, O Christ, one with Thine own,
Joyful to follow Thee through paths unknown;
In Thee my strength renew; give me Thy work to do;
Through me Thy truth be shown, Thy love made known.
Not for myself alone may my prayer be;
Lift Thou Thy world, O Christ, closer to Thee;
Cleanse it from guilt and wrong; teach it salvation's song
Till earth, as Heaven, fulfills God's holy will.

In the scriptures, it says that the whole creation is groaning and suffering the
pangs of childbirth:
"For we know that the whole creation groans and suffers the pains of childbirth
together until now." (Romans 8:22)
It is a reference to the imminence of spiritual rebirth, of spiritual
consciousness, of Christ Consciousness:
"Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus."
(Philippians 2:5)
"Therefore if any man is in Christ [in Christ Consciousness] he is a new
creature; the old things are passed away; behold, new things have come. Now all
these things are from God, who reconciled us to Himself through the Christ
[Spirit] and gave us the ministry of reconciliation." (2 Corinthians 5: 17-18)
It is through the power of the Holy Spirit [the Kundalini Energy] that this
Christ Consciousness or Mind of Christ is attained. Shri Mataji explains how
this power of the Holy Ghost works to transform human beings:
"With the Kundalini, we can clear our brain out first. Then the sincerity will
come. When the Kundalini touches the brahmarandhra [the area of the "soft spot"
at the top of the head of a newborn], which is the seat of the heart, the
person's heart will expand and restore itself back to its kingly position and
all the problems will be dissolved. Then the person suddenly becomes
transformed. Both ego and superego are blasted by an awakened heart. Then we
deal with people by sweet communication. Sahaja Yoga [Union with the Divine] is
the only way to finish these stony hearts, egos and superegos." (Shri Mataji
Nirmala Devi—Birthday Puja Synopsis—Sydney, Australia—21 March 1990)
The Scriptures also say that human beings must be transformed by the renewing of
their minds:
"And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of
your mind, that you may prove what the will of God is, which is good and
acceptable and perfect." (Romans 12:2)
"For if you are living according to the flesh, you will die; but if by the
Spirit [the Higher Self] you are putting to death the deeds of the body [the
lower self], you will live. For all who are being led by the Spirit of God,
these are the children of God. (Romans 8:13-14)
Our salvation, self-realisation, or connection to the Divine will lead to
complete spiritual liberation from the things that spiritually bind us. In that
Spirit, the Psalmist also says:
"Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a steadfast Spirit within me. Do
not cast me away from Thy presence, and do not take Thy Holy Spirit from me.
Restore to me the joy of Thy salvation, and sustain me with a willing spirit."
(Psalms 51:10-12)
"Now the Lord is the [Holy] Spirit and where the Spirit of the Lord is [awakened
within] there is liberty." (2 Corinthians 3:17)
Shri Mataji Nirmala Devi:
"When the Kundalini [the Power of the Holy Ghost] rises, one can easily feel the
cool breeze coming out of one's fontanel bone area, on top of one's head. One
can feel it oneself and one has to certify oneself. One can also feel this cool
breeze all around oneself. This cool breeze is the one that is manifested by the
all-pervading power of Divine Love. For the first time in life, one actualises
the experience of feeling this subtle divine power.
Thus a human being rises above all the shackles of slavery. One does not need
any more guidance from any Guru. One becomes one's own master, no longer groping
in the dark for support. One becomes [an] absolutely free person. No one can
intimidate or manipulate a Sahaja Yogi. People come to Sahaja Yoga from many
sects, religious organisations and schools of thought, but their conditionings
drop off. No one can condition a realised soul after Sahaja Yoga [after Union
with the Divine].
This freedom is very beautiful, and then, slowly one learns to fly like a bird
on one's own, until one masters it, and knows all about Divinity.
After Sahaja Yoga [the Union with the Divine Within], the personality rises so
much above others, and the sense of discretion becomes so sharp and perfect,
that [neither] the media, television, entrepreneurs, fake masters, misguiding or
modern methods, nothing, can deviate the mind from the righteous path.
No one can lead a Sahaja Yogi astray, unless and until a Sahaja Yogi himself
falls into some temptation, fear, or manipulation.
The Sahaja Yogi enjoys his freedom and that of other Sahaja Yogis. He knows his
powers and has knowledge about himself. He becomes a powerful, free saint,
leading an angelic life.
